Attractively fruited and inviting, the fragrant bouquet shows golden peach, mango, lemon peel and cedary wood characters, leading to a beautifully supple palate that is flavoursome and lingering. The wine offers lovely mid-palate weight and creamy texture, making it immediately appealing. At its best now to 2021.

Already drinking well, the 2017 vintage (4*) was estate-grown at Upper Moutere, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 11 months in French oak barrels. Light yellow/green, with a fragrant, slightly buttery bouquet, it is mouth-filling and smooth, with generous stonefruit flavours, toasty oak adding complexity, a slightly creamy texture and well-rounded finish. Best drinking mid-2019+
Review by Bob Campbell, The Real Review:
Quite a weighty and moderately complex chardonnay with peach, melon, toast, spicy oak, hazelnut and mineral/struck flint characters. The wine has a pleasing texture with a drying and very lightly bitter finish. Drink: 2019-2025.
